This is a post from the student team who worked with Büdlfarm on Fehmarn. They have acquired the photo included.
We, Isabel from Spain, Louisa from Germany and Minttu from Finland, participated VISIT Online Community course. The intensive part of the course was for three days and before it, we had a pre-assignment where we had to read through the materials provided and summarize main points from other members of the team.
Our task was to find a solution for our case company Büdlfarm located on an island in northern Germany. They asked us to find creative, new service ideas to extend the season on the farm. After doing net scouting, questionnaires, interviews, brainwriting, prototyping and testing we came up with different kind of farming workshops that are mainly targeted for German students who have green values and enjoy being outdoors. The workshops are for example about planting, woodwork and animals and they can also be targeted to different groups such as younger kids and elders.
The team has worked really hard and we have had good communication and vibes from the beginning. It’s a big challenge to work with people from other countries and cultures, but we have managed it well. We have learned more about international communicating, problem solving and tools. The staff and the assistants were really helpful throughout the course.
Here’s a picture of the Büdlfarm, the sea is nearby, come and enjoy farm life on an island!
